Bb Clarinet - Albert System - Hi Pitch

This Albert System Clarinet in Bb (Sib) represents an early variant featuring a ringless, cross fingering upper-joint design. The absence of rings on the upper joint preserves an older fingering logic, long favored by folk musicians for its flexibility, expressive slides, and enhanced microtonal control.

The clarinet is tuned to high pitch (Old Philharmonic, approximately A=456 Hz), a standard widely used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and still actively used in folk music of the Indian subcontinent. This higher pitch produces a brighter, more penetrating tone, allowing the instrument to project clearly in outdoor performances, weddings, processions, and traditional folk ensembles.
