Our reproduction is based on a later 18th century model (c. 1785-1790) by August Grenser, Dresden, one of the most distinguished makers, reflecting the Dresden school at the threshold of the Classical era.

Hand-carved key-blocks formed directly from the wood, following historical construction methods. Keys include: Thumb B-flat, G-sharp, short F, and D-sharp, helps with chromatic notes while the usual cross-fingered notes can still be played.

With its A = 430 Hz pitch, it reflects late 18th-century pitch standards for early Classical repertoire, including works by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, and their contemporaries.
  • Pitch: A=430 Hz and (or) A=440 Hz
