Our reproduction is based on early 19th century (c. 1810-1815) by D’Almaine & Co., London, representing a very late stage in the development of the one keyed flute in the English tradition.

With enlarged tone holes and a larger embouchure hole, it reflects the transitional stage between the late Baroque flute and the fully developed Classical keyed flute, considered a late version of the Baroque flute.

Tuned at A=430 Hz, this late transitional one-keyed flute is well suited to late 18th- and early 19th-century repertoire, where Baroque expressivity meets emerging Classical clarity and the transition from the galant style to early Classical expression.
  • Pitch: A=430 Hz and (or) A=440 Hz
  • Crafted from Boxwood, Cocobolo wood or Grenadilla ebony wood.
  • Wood-ends are protected by imitation Ivory or wooden rings.
  • The key is casted from brass and features steel springs with leather pad.
  • Comes with care instructions, and a guide with a fingering chart.
  • Additionally, accessories such as a plush-lined protective case, cleaning cloth, and extra key pads are provided.
