G.A. Rottenburgh 1745 with C Foot Joint - A=430 & A=415 Hz

Our reproduction is based on an original flute by Godfridus Adrianus Rottenburgh of Brussels, dating from around 1745 and owned by Belgian flutist Barthold Kuijken.

With its most important A=415 hz joint, Kuijken performed late Baroque, Rococo, and early Classical repertoire, with a particular focus on mid-18th-century music by Bach, Telemann, Quantz, and C. P. E. Bach.

You have the option of Cocobolo or Grenadilla wood. Carefully selected materials are used throughout, with the rings individually hand-crafted from imitation ivory. The rings add an elegant appearance while reflecting the attention to craftsmanship and adding value to the instrument.

We have developed a C foot joint with C# and C keys specifically for this model. You have the option of purchasing the flute with both D and C foot joints.

A=415 Hz: The flute is tuned to Baroque pitch and is supplied with an A=430 Hz Classical pitch “corps de rechange” (replacement middle joint) that we have developed.

The D foot joint has a register and a brass Eb key mounted on a hand-carved key block made directly from the wood body.

The C foot joint has brass Eb, C#, and C keys mounted on hand-carved key blocks made directly from the wood body.

The keys are cast in brass and left in its original finish, fitted with a brass pins, steel springs, and leather pads.
